Welcome to the National Conservation Leadership Institute website! You’ve arrived while we’re accepting nominations for our fourth annual cohort of Fellows in what continues to be an unprecedented leadership development experience. We are very excited for all of you who are preparing to compete for acceptance into the Institute as a Fellow. Ours are challenging times and the need for significantly increasing leadership capacity is unparalleled. As the Executive Director of the NCLI, please allow me to act as your guide here on our homepage. Each year professionals within the natural resource conservation community are nominated by their top administrators to compete for one of 36 fellowship spaces. It is an honor to be nominated. It is a testament to how highly the nominee’s organization sees their leadership potential. The NCLI is not another leadership program, nor is it a training course. Such characterizations hardly get at the heart of the matter. The NCLI is more an experience. A majority of the alumni describe the experience as “life changing”. Personally, it is the most impressive professional development experience I have witnessed in my professional career. Extraordinary.
